Finally got around to doing this today on my ‘94 525i and
have found this to be the easiest way to make the correct connections,
though I am sure there are other ways, this way was the best way
for me. I have not found a DIY for our E34’s so here it is,
in its simplest form… ENJOY!!!
- Use Flathead to remove center lights
- Use Flathead to remove Moonroof panel
- Cut and strip both end of Brown wire as seen in pic below
- Connect ground wire of radar detector to brown wires, twist
them as shown below and finally wrap them with electrical tape
- Use Flathead to remove passenger Vanity lights
- Disconnect adapter from Vanity lights and strip the Power
end of radar detector wire and insert into hole as seen in pic
below
- Reconnect adapter with wire inside the hole as seen in above
pic (I did it this way so not to cut anymore wires)
- Replace everything and here is your finished product
